Star-Studded Juhu: Exploring Celebrity Houses in Mumbai's Glamorous Suburb

Mumbai is the City of Dreams, and it goes without saying that the scapes here are a little too dreamy! Well, so are the abodes of the people who live here. Juhu and Bandra are two Mumbai localities generously studded with celebrity abodes! Those who know Juhu well do not shy away from calling it Mumbai's own Beverly Hills.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa

The Bachchan family lives in a grand two-storeyed bungalow near Juhu Beach, and their House is called Jalsa. Located next to the luxurious JW Marriott Hotel in Juhu, this House was handed to Big B as his payment in kind for his work in the super hit film Satte pe Satta. Situated on the Vaikunthlal Mehta Road, it is surrounded by greens. This ₹ 100 crore abode is tastefully decorated in stone and wood textures. The entrance showcases planters and brassware sitting on all treads of the entrance stairway. The family is big on art, and their home is abode to various paintings, including paintings by artist Manjit Bawa. Some of these paintings are estimated to cost as much as ₹ 4 crores. Mr Bachchan not so occasionally shares pictures of his family and himself, which offers fans a peep into Jalsa and the life there! 

Shatrugan Sinha’s Ramayan

Situated in the JVPD (Juhu Vile Parle Development) Scheme, Ramayan, the ten-story swanky bungalow as we know it today, was bought by famous Indian actor Shatrugan Sinha in 1972. JVPD Scheme is home to some of Mumbai's most famous landmarks, which include the Jamnabai Narsee International School and the Cooper Hospital. Walking and driving here is like a breeze as it is a well-planned area. Ramayan was recently in the news for its beautifully done interiors, particularly its topmost floor. Sonakshi lives on the topmost floor of Ramayan. Visualized and brought to life by interior designer Rupin Suchak, the Sinhas inhabit an amazingly alluring space! 

Kajol and Ajay Devgan’s Shivshakti 

Area: 5400 sq. ft. 

Shivshakti, the Devgan family's residence, is another gem in Juhu. Ajay paid an astounding ₹ 60 crores for the same. Located directly across from Juhu's well-known single-screen Chandan Cinema is Shivshakti. Notable educational establishments like the Utpal Shanghvi Global School are located in this part of Juhu. It's surrounded by lush greenery and nestled in tiny alleyways, making it quite charming and walking. The Devgan family resides on the ground level of Sheetal Apartments. The mother-daughter duo Kajol and Nysa post a lot of photographs from their abode, giving fans a glimpse into their tastefully decorated abode! 

Akshay Kumar’s Prime Beach House

Area: 1878 sq. ft. 

Talk about Juhu Beach, and it is impossible to not mention this celebrity house of Juhu. Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar are owners of an utterly beautiful design marvel in the Prime Beach building of Juhu. Very aptly referred to as the Beach House, this beachfront Juhu bungalow sports a simplistic façade. One can see the same covered with tall and tiny trees and, of course, a compound wall when walking on the Juhu beach. Pictures of the abode on social media show a pond in their living room, which makes the same appear warm and cosy. The family also has a space for their four luxury cars. As visitors admire the beauty of the Arabian Sea from Juhu Beach, Akshay and his family get to do the same daily! Not to forget, they also get to see the sun dancing over the sea! Akshay, Twinkle and their two kids live on the ground floor of this House. It is said that his sister and mother also live in the same building complex in two apartments. Another famous Bollywood star, Hrithik Roshan, also owns one apartment in this building.
