Uday Suresh Kotak is one of the biggest and most successful names in the banking world. Hailing from an upper-middle-class Gujarat family, Kotak worked his way up and is one of the names behind the Kotak Mahindra Bank. Uday Kotak is married to Pallavi Kotak, and the couple has two children together. The Kotak family has routinely been in the news for their luxurious residential investments. They own multiple houses across the length and breadth of Mumbai. The now billionaire banker grew up in a home where 60 people stayed under the same roof and shared a common kitchen.

Uday Kotak is in the news again, but this time, it is because of his son Jay's wedding. We would like to take a moment to congratulate the Kotak family on this utterly special event in their life. Another news from September 2023 covered extensively by various journalism houses was the news of Uday Kotak stepping down as the MD and CEO of the Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Talking about this blog, we are here to explore the Architectural details and beauty of Uday Kotak's house where Uday Kotak, Pallavi Kotak and their sons live. If you want to know more about the Kotak family's abodes, look no further; this blog discusses precisely the same.

The tale behind the name Champagne House

The house was previously owned by the country's most significant and oldest wine producer, Champagne Indage. The Chougule family's abode was called so as it was identified by their brand name! However, in 2009, Champagne Indage officially changed its name to Indage Vintners. However, their abode remained the Champagne House and is still called the same.

The Champagne House, Worli: All you need to know about the multi-crore deal.

Bungalows in Mumbai are so rare of a phenomenon. It is natural that when these rare gemstones are bought, there are multiple contenders. Hence, they are sold for a whopping number of crores, and it goes without saying that these numbers are sometimes whopping that they make headlines.

The Kotak family bought the Champagne House, previously owned by Ranjit Chougule, Managing Director of Indage Vintners, for ₹385 crores.

The Kotak family's abode serves ultra luxurious looks!

Uday Kotak's House is a dreamy, sea-facing property located at the AB Nair Road of Worli, renowned for its dazzling skyline and upscale neighbourhoods. This house called for much patience from the Kotak family; they waited two years to lay their hands on this property. This two-storeyed residential property measures close to 1680 sq. metres.

Surrounded by greens, the house dazzles with its cream façade. The façade features luxurious Roman Architectural elements, and a porch extends forth and gives the house a dreamy palace-like feel. The white columns and railing perfectly complement the beige hue of the house. When the news of this deal followed, many brokers said that the pricing in this deal was 20% above the then-market rate (in 2018).

The Champagne House on the inside

Talking about the inside of Uday Kotak's house, the few glimpses we have caught of this luxurious abode are actually from the COVID times when Mr Uday Kotak did some online interviews with channels such as BQ Prime. His house features a use of warm shades, dark brown curtains, a similar palette for the furniture and warm lighting.

The house is also believed to have equally luxurious parking where the Kotak family's stunning car collection is parked. The car collection includes the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the BMW 7 Series.

Other Residential Properties owned by the Kotak Family

The Kotak family also owns a duplex at Signature Island, Bandra Kurla Complex and another apartment at the National Centre for Performing Art Residential Complex, Nariman Point. The former is a sought-after project that was an instant hit among many big names from various industries - the list includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Vikram Pandit, Rinke Khanna, and Nimesh Kampani.

In the End

Uday Kotak is one of India's most successful and renowned bankers. He has had a tale of journeying from a whole house where 60 people shared the same kitchen to owning multiple luxurious homes in some of the most sought-after places of Mumbai- Bandra Kurla Complex, Worli, and Nariman Point. The houses owned by the Kotak family feature diverse building typologies ranging from sea-facing flats with the most scenic views to equally gorgeous sea-facing bungalows. The property where the family stays, Champagne House, is an ultra-luxurious sea-facing property in Worli, which was previously owned by the Chougule family of Indage Vintners.
