Cricket is not merely a sport; it is a religion that unites Indians, cutting across cultural and linguistic diversity. Cricketers in the nation have achieved iconic status and are among the biggest celebrities. Virender Sehwag is a cricketer with a fan following that runs into millions. One of the greatest openers of all time, Viru, as he is lovingly called, is known for his infectious smile and his perseverance both on and off the field.

Virendra Sehwag was born and raised in Najafgarh, near Delhi. This is what earned him the moniker "Nawab of Najafgarh". A few years ago, the sportsman bought a beautiful and luxurious house in Hauz Khas, near Siri Fort, one of the greenest and most beautiful residential neighbourhoods in the city of Delhi. Let us take a virtual tour of Virendra Sehwag's house, Krishan Niwas, and learn about his favourite corners.

The sprawling and opulent home has an estimated value of over INR 130 crore. The house is surrounded by a large, manicured lawn with several trees and flowering plants. Our favourite cricketer is often seen walking and playing with his pet dogs on these grounds. The home has been designed to incorporate traditional Indian and contemporary architectural elements to give it a sophisticated vibe.

Inside Viru's Luxurious Home

We get a glimpse of Virendra Sehwag's house from his social media pictures. The foyer area has a large mirror installation and a glass side shelf with several pictures of Sehwag and his family. The beige marble floors offer an interesting contrast to the sturdy wooden doors.

The large living area has a cosy and comfortable vibe with a large tan couch, matching cushions, and wooden furniture. This area has ceiling-to-floor glass panes installed with tan drapes to complement the decor. The area has been kept clean with minimal trinkets, but several framed pictures of the cricketer in action grace the home. The living space also has several potted plants and a large traditional motif carpet.

The other side of the living room has wooden wall panels and a cupboard installation with pictures, curios, plants, and some of his awards. Behind this is a wooden coffee table with brown wood and fabric chairs. One room of the house is dedicated to our favourite Viru's trophies and awards. This room contains memorabilia from matches in which India has won resounding victories against some of the strongest cricketing teams and in which Viru has played impressive innings.

A Regal Home

This expansive home has eight bedrooms with personal bathrooms. Some have Jacuzzis and other luxurious fittings that seamlessly blend luxury and comfort. The home also has several TV and AV units for watching cricket matches and entertainment.

From the cricketer's social media posts, we see that this home has a large and well-ventilated kitchen. Every member of the family loves this space, and all of them contribute to food preparation and cooking. The kitchen has beige tiled walls and matching cabinets and cupboards. The large glass windows make this a bright area, and like the rest of the home, the kitchen has some state-of-the-art appliances. The granite countertop is highly polished, making it a highly functional kitchen.

This home has a large and beautiful puja room where the family gather regularly and offers their gratitude to God. Virendra Sehwag is also a car enthusiast and has a large collection of luxury automobiles. Krishna Niwas has a large parking space that can more than accommodate Viru's prize possessions. The home also has a state-of-the-art security system and several tech gizmos. Installing the latest home appliances and technology seems to be Sehwag's pet passion.

Virendra Sehwag's House in Najafgarh

While Virendra Sehwag's Hauz Khas home is an iconic property that brings together thoughtful interior designs with stately architecture, the cricketer and his family continue to spend much time at his ancestral home in Najafgarh. Although there are not many media profiles or social media pictures of the Najafgarh house, we know it is a simple yet elegant home with several large rooms for all the family members. This home is known only by its simple letterbox with "Sehwag" painted on it. The media is kept at bay for the family's privacy.
