Neetu Singh House: Exploring the Legacy of Krishna Raj

Movie lovers in India often refer to the Kapoor family as the first family of the Hindi film industry. Starting from the times of the pioneering actor Prithviraj Kapoor, the clan has produced several generations of actors, directors, producers, and artists. Rishi Kapoor is the son of the iconic Raj Kapoor. Having made his debut as a child, Rishi Kapoor went on to star in numerous hit movies, and his illustrious career spanned several decades. He married the popular actress Neetu Kapoor (nee Singh). Let us explore the legacy of the Krishna Raj bungalow, which had been their home for several years.

The History of Neetu Kapoor's Home

Rishi Kapoor and his beautiful wife Neetu Kapoor bought the sprawling mansion in Pali Hill in 1980. The bungalow had been the couple's home for nearly 40 years till Rishi's demise in 2020. The actor had lovingly named the home Krishna Raj after his parents - the legendary actor Raj Kapoor and his wife Krishna Kapoor. Rishi and Neetu raised their children, Riddhima and Ranbir Kapoor, in this home.

From what we gather through old pictures and social media posts, the Krishna Raj mansion was a sprawling and stately bungalow with traditional furniture and elegant decor. There were several large rooms where the Kapoors would routinely host family and friends. The lawn surrounding the bungalow was well maintained and also had a beautiful fountain.

Krishna Raj Redevelopment 

In 2016, news outlets reported that Rishi and Neetu Kapoor had sought permission to redevelop the property and construct a luxury residential project. The star couple had initially sought permission for the construction of 15 stories, but the development was completed with eight floors. The complete construction of the brand-new Krishna Raj took three years since its launch.

According to the initial plans submitted by the famous architect Yomesh Rao, the revamped Krishna Raj was to have 45 car parking spots - adequate space to house Rishi Kapoor's extensive collection of cars and space for guests as well. We are yet to know if this aspect of the plan has been retained.

The New Krishna Raj

Neetu Kapoor's house, Krishna Raj, is all set to be the family residence in a new avatar. Neetu will occupy one of the floors in this eight-storey residential complex, and another is dedicated to the memory of Rishi Kapoor. The couple's son Ranbir Kapoor, who is now an extremely popular and well-loved actor, tied the knot with actress Alia Bhatt in April 2022. The Krishna Raj Bungalow was decorated with bright lights and flowers for the wonderful occasion. Now that the newlyweds have welcomed a cute daughter, Raha, they have two floors ready to occupy. Alia, Ranbir, and baby Raha are expected to soon move into the newly constructed apartment. One more floor has been reserved for the exclusive use of Riddhima and her daughter when they are in Mumbai. An entire floor has been dedicated to be used as the office base of Neetu, Ranbir, and Alia. As expected in a celebrity home, one floor has a fully equipped home theatre installed. Neetu Kapoor's house also has a swimming pool and a fitness centre.

Neetu Singh's New Mumbai Apartment

Apart from Krishna Raj, Neetu Singh recently invested in a spacious and luxurious apartment on the seventh floor of Signia Isle. The project is a 19-storey high-rise developed by the popular real estate company Suntek Realty. Located in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, the apartment is spread over 3,387 square feet on the seventh floor and showcases breathtaking views of the city skyline. According to news reports, this new apartment cost the actress about INR 17.4 crore. The project showcases the most amazing luxurious amenities and facilities, including a state-of-the-art gymnasium and fitness centre, a temperature-controlled swimming pool, and a squash court.
