What is CREDAI? 

CREDAI is the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Association of India. Established in 1999, it is an apex body of private real estate developers in India. It was constituted with a vision of transforming the landscape of the Indian Real Estate industry. As of today, the organisation represents the interests of more than 13000 developers across 217 city chapters in 21 states of India. 

And where are the headquarters of CREDAI? The main office of CREDAI is at the August Kranti Marg in New Delhi. CREDAI has 217 City chapters. 

What does CREDAI do?

CREDAI works in various arenas. It promotes and represents the real estate industry in India and organises events, seminars and conferences where collaborations and the sector's potential are showcased. It also advocates bringing transparency and protecting the interests of homebuyers, addressing a social development agenda focused on the welfare of construction workers through its CSR initiatives. 

What are the benefits of CREDAI?

What is CREDAI CSR?

CREDAI CSR Foundation(CCF) is the CSR arm of CREDAI, which was constituted in 2015 to bring synergy in the work done and contribute to social and environmental relevance issues in the construction world! The organisation focuses on improving liveability and protecting the interests of construction workers by promoting initiatives such as skill development, health, literacy, etc. Areas that are covered under the CREDAI CSR include environmental impact, health and medical care, skill training and development, education, women empowerment and social infrastructure. It has launched many successful drives, such as the Clean City Movement and CREDAI's Skilling Initiative, and has trained over one lakh workers. 

What is CREDAI-MCHI? 

The CREDAI-MCHI is an apex body under the aegis of the national CREDAI. The CREDAI-MCHI comprises members from the real estate industry only in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The organisation has more than 1800 leading developers. Shri Dominic Romell is currently serving as the President of this organisation. It has 13 offices, which include Palghar-Boisar, Vasai-Virar, Mira-Bhayandar, Thane, Uran-Dronagiri, Alibag, Bhiwandi, Shahapur-Murbad, Kalyan-Dombivli, Navi Mumbai, Karjat-Khalapur-Khopoli, and Pen. 

The CREDAI-MCHI recently said it was unfair to attribute rising pollution levels to heavy construction. Multiple other factors need to be taken into consideration that affect the air quality. These include refineries, waste management and power plants. The developers' body added that the recent identification of the M-East Ward with the highest air pollution levels indicates the diversity of contributors, such as the Deonar landfill, power plants and refineries. Their statement highlights that attributing the air quality crisis to just the real estate sector is like oversimplifying a complex issue. It extended its support for initiatives ensuring stricter emissions control from state-run refineries and better and responsible waste disposal practices.
